Custom website design and build

A custom website built for your business, not a template.

If this site caught your eye, that's the pitch. Everything here was built in-house: the design, the space background, the animations, the words. We do the same for your company: a site that looks like nobody else's and carries your brand, not a template's.

Your company, looking like this.

Same care, your colors, your story, live at your own address.Same care, your brand.

01 · How it works

From a conversation to a live site.

STEP 1

Tell us your story

What you do, who it's for, and what the site has to accomplish. One call or one email.

STEP 2

See it before you commit

You get living mockups: real pages with real motion, like the ones this site grew from.

STEP 3

Launch and keep it alive

We build it, put it live at your domain, and stay reachable for changes, same inbox as everything else.

02 · What you get
01

Designed, not templated

Built around your business from a blank page, no theme underneath.

02

Motion that means something

Animation like this page's, tuned to your brand, never stock.

03

Fast and yours

Lean pages, your domain, your files. Nothing held hostage.

$75 a month
Care plan after launch

The care plan covers hosting, backups, software updates and up to an hour of changes a month. It is optional, the site is yours either way, and you get every number before the work starts.

01

How many pages

A one page site and a twelve page site are not the same build. Most small companies land between five and eight.

02

How much custom motion

The animation on this site was written for this site. That work is real hours, and you can have as much or as little of it as you want.

03

Selling or booking online

A store, a cart, or an online booking calendar adds a system behind the pages, not just more pages.

04

Who writes the words

If you have the copy, the build is shorter. If you want me to write it, that is part of the project.

Frequently asked questions.

How much does a custom website cost?

Sites start at $1,500, and most projects land between $2,500 and $5,000. What moves the number is the page count, how much custom motion the design needs, whether you are selling or taking bookings online, and whether you write the words or I do. You get the number before the work starts, not after.

How long does it take to build a website?

One week, from the first call to a live site. The part that sets the pace is content: photos, prices, and the list of what you actually do. Have that ready and the week is comfortable.

Who actually builds the site?

One person. Josh Wald designs it, builds it, and answers the email when you write in. There is no account manager in between and no work handed to a third party.

Is the site built from a template or WordPress?

No. Every site is built around your business from a blank page, with no theme underneath. That is why it does not look like the other sites in your trade.

How much is website hosting and maintenance a month?

$75 a month covers hosting, backups, software updates, and up to an hour of changes. There is no long contract, and the site stays yours either way. If you would rather host it somewhere else and pay for changes as they come, that works too.

Do I own the site when it is finished?

Yes. It goes live at your domain, the files are yours, and you can take them anywhere. Nothing is held hostage to keep you paying.

What happens after the site launches?

Hosting and changes run on a $75 a month care plan: hosting, backups, software updates, and up to an hour of changes each month. Anything bigger than that gets a number before the work starts. Change requests go to the person who built the site, not a ticket queue.

Can I make my own edits?

You can, and for most small companies it is not worth the hassle. Send the change and it gets made. If you want to edit the site yourself, say so at the start and it gets built that way.

Do you write the copy?

Yes, if you want that. Every word on this site was written in-house. If you would rather write it yourself, that is cheaper and the project is shorter.

Do you do logos and branding?

Light brand work comes with the site: colors, type, and how the whole thing holds together. A full logo and identity project is separate work, so ask and you will get a straight answer about whether it is worth it.

Do you build online stores?

Yes. A store or a cart adds a system behind the pages, so it sits at the higher end of the range.

Can the site take bookings or appointments?

Yes. Online booking, a quote request, or a form that lands straight in the software you already use.

Will the site work on phones?

Yes. Every page is built for a phone first, because most people who look up a service business are standing outside holding one.

Will my site show up on Google?

The site is built so it can: clean markup, fast pages, a sitemap, and structured data on every page. Where it lands depends on your competition and how long the site has been up, and anyone who promises you a position is guessing.

Will my site show up in ChatGPT and other AI assistants?

That is built in. Every site ships with structured data, an answer-first FAQ, and an llms.txt file, which is what AI assistants read when someone asks them to recommend a company. Most sites in the trades have none of it.

Do you work with contractors and trade businesses?

Yes, and that is most of the work. Roofing, solar, HVAC, and the kind of company that runs crews in the field. The sister companies under the same parent are a solar company and a construction company, so the questions are familiar.

Where are you located, and do you work remotely?

Northeastern Pennsylvania, working with companies across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, and remotely anywhere in the United States. A website project does not need anyone in the room.

I already have a website. Can you redo it?

Yes. A redesign is the same project with a head start, because the content already exists and usually just needs cutting down. You keep the domain and the traffic.

What do you need from me to start?

What you do, who it is for, and what the site has to accomplish. Photos and prices if you have them. One call or one email is enough to begin.

Do you build software as well as websites?

Yes. JJ Softworks builds custom field software, including a canvassing app for door-to-door teams and inventory software for companies whose warehouse is the business. A website is often the front of a larger build.

How do I get a quote?

Send it through the contact form at jjsoftworks.com/contact/ and say what your company does and what the site has to accomplish. Replies come back within 24 hours.
